How does Scott McClellan sleep?

"We are in Iraq at the invitation of the government of Iraq."

Hoo boy, what a doozy. "Give me Revisions of History for 100, Alex"

Soldiers of Christ

"I think that's how it is," James continued. "That's how I feel about Dobson, or Haggard. They're family. We have loyalties, even if we disagree."

I told James about a little man I had met in the hallway at New Life who, when I said I was from New York City, said, simply, "Ka-boom!" I told him also about Joseph Torrez, a New Lifer I had eaten dinner with, who, when describing the evangelical gathering underway in Colorado Springs, compared it to "Shaquille O'Neal driving down the lane, dunking on you." Torrez had said, "It's time to choose sides," a refrain I had heard over and over again during my time in Colorado Springs.

"So which is it?" I asked. "Which side are you on? Theirs? Are you ready to declare war on me, on my city?"

"No - "

Here.

Somebody read this in its entirety and then get back to me with the cliff notes so I'm well-imformed on the goings on in the EU.

I've never even read my own country's Constitution. I should start with that before I spend the time with the EU Constitution.

Orson Scott Card is an incredible writer!

Dig his latest work of fiction:

Speaker for the brainDead.

You've got to respect a guy like this on *some* level. He's a prolific writer with his hand in everything from movies to graphic novels to video games.

But one thought springs to mind after reading this:

.......kukoo.....kukoo.....kukoo!

More Giant Robos please!

Very cool.

Illustration for a game 1995.

This is something from a time when I still considered myself to be an "Illustrator". I don't really think of myself as an illustrator.

I am not a good squad leader.

I've been playing Brothers in Arms off and on for the last couple of weeks. Yeah, it takes me forever to get through some games. I really liked it at the beginning. It was fun to play through each chapter a few times and explore all the ways I could defeat the Germans.

I was able to keep the team alive and casualty free for most of the initial chapters. By the time I had gotten to Carentan, things started to change. The Germans got tougher and the time it took to complete each chapter grew considerably. I'm used to this. This is the case with most games.

Does it come in Spicy flavor?

I wonder if Armin Meiwes had been a member of this organisation, would things have turned out differenty for him?

And what has all this to do with the spate of zombie occurrences afflicting rural communities recently?

Curiouser and curiouser.

Sketch: 90 minutes.

Meh. Not too happy with this one at all. Foreshortening in the arms is off. Rendering in the hip areas isn't very good at all. And to top it off, it's unfinished. All in all a C effort.

AhH!!! My *sketch* blog is empty!!

On the first page any way. Here are some from 97 (yeah, they're old):

David Wong is on a roll.

Holy Crap. This guy Wong crushed my entire reason for wanting to development games.....in just two webpages of text.

Oh, what will I do with my life?!! :)

That's where we want to go.

Insensitive? No, not at all.

Creative commentary on the ineffectiveness of the UN in dealing with international crises? Yes, it could be argued.

Just a bunch of Norwegian soldiers relieving the stress of their situation with a little humor? Most likely.

Nothing to get too worked up about.

Gamer Manifesto

Good stuff.

A manifesto I can get behind 100%

I just lost my appetite....for life

I smell sumpin' funny.

And the Xbox 360 will be available by Christmas?

Hmm.

This is perfect!

I've been thinkin' I need an Indie look. This may help me achieve it.

Sketch: 30 minutes.

I tried giving this sketch a painterly look in Photoshop similar to the last few. It wasn't going too well so - without a thought - I deleted the file. Gone for good. I should have realized it would be a difficult render because the pose took far too long for me to nail down.

Anyway:

This is wik wik whack, yo!

Fcuk that shit.

FUCKIN' hilarious!

Guy definitely needs to scale back his intake of caffeine. Must have something to do with a special on crop circles that aired on TV.

Great commercial.

No sketch tonight - so far anyway - because I have a freelance gig I have to complete.

But here are two pics from a few years ago. Taken from the roof of my old studio on Fulton Street. I miss that place. Never thought I'd say that.

Interesting story

Nice execution, although it kind of falls apart when read in its entirety in one sitting.

But I enjoyed it nevertheless. Some of the comments suggest it's taken from the book House of Leaves. I haven't read it so I don't know. Blogging is a novel ( get it? - haw haw ) way of telling a sequential story. Although the anticipation of the next episode is lost if you come into it late. There's a book out now that tells a story completely in IM transcripts - TTYL. I haven't read it but I might pick it up. It's definitely a fresh perspective on storytelling.

Ah, lifestyles of the rich and obscenely extravagant!

Gotta love this kind of tasteless self-indulgence.

Powerful Stuff!!

"I think that the government has successfully proved that any service member has reasonable cause to believe that the wars in Yugoslavia, Afghanistan and Iraq were illegal."

That's a military judge making that comment. Powerful indeed!!

Suck on that, war criminals. Could it be too much to hope our President is impeached and his cabinet brought to trial? Probably. But it's nice to know the anti-war crowd was on the right side of this all along.........at least about the Iraq War.

As a former Marine and Gulf War 1 veteran, I praise this young man's courage and willingness to go the distance for what he believes.

Even Zapatistas make time for football!

I've been a huge fan of Subcomandante Marcos for many years. Sometimes I think he's just too good to be true.

Coolio!

Changing hearts and minds..........with good ole fashion Rock n Roll.

Sketch: Golden Gate Park in the early morn. Looking towards Twin Peaks.

Barrier Test video!

That is one well made wall. They should make all buildings - especially in earthquake zones out of the stuff.

Sketch: 2.5 hours. No reference.

I'm a little happier with the skintones here. Finished this up last night, but didn't have time to post it.

Maybe a new monitor will do the trick. Mine is ass.

Wednesday, May 04, 2005

Hmm?

There's a little ambiguity there. Yes, she could have believed the pics were taken for the amusement of the guards, but Graner still could have ordered her to do it. They're not mutually exclusive.

I still say this goes higher than "a few bad apples".

Tuesday, May 03, 2005

Ja. Dieser Dandy ist ziemlich unsinnig.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around this one.

I mean, was it a victimless crime if the victim wanted to be eaten?

Hoof.....my head hurts.

Sketch: 1.5 hours

This is an attempt at a painterly style in Photoshop. No reference.

I'm still not happy with the skin tones.
